NOVEMBER CALL FOR ARTISTS

Small Treasures

Mint Hill Arts is pleased to present our Small Treasures show for November 2018. Make your art ‘big’ in a small package!  This non-judged show is all about small works of any subject and is open to Mint Hill Arts members and non-members!  We have scheduled the show to make it possible for the community to purchase art as gifts for the holiday, so bear that in mind when you set your prices.

Open To:
Members and non-members of Mint Hill Arts.

Intake:
Friday, October 26, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 27, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Opening Reception:
The Small Treasures Opening Reception will take place on Friday, November 2 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to enjoy free wine, soft drinks, appetizers, and great art!

Fees:
MHA members: $10 for up to 4 pieces.
Non-members: $30 for up to 4 pieces.

Sizes:
Please pay attention to your sizes.  Due to a limited wall and floor space, no exceptions can be made for oversize artwork.
2-D work cannot exceed 11″ x 14″.
3-D work cannot exceed 24″ footprint by 36″ in height.

Rules:

  • Each artist may enter up to four (4) individual pieces.
  • All work must be original. Reproductions of work done by others are not accepted.
  • All 2D artwork must be properly framed and wired. If your 2D work does not require a frame, hanging must be thought out so it is ready to be displayed. Please try to avoid using poor quality frames; we’ve had artwork fall and break when poorly framed.
  • All artists must fill out our Gallery Registration Form; your signature on the form indicates acceptance of our liability waiver.
  • Each piece must have an Intake Label attached to the back.
  • Entering artists must be 18 years old or have written permission from a parent/guardian.
  • Mint Hill Arts accepts all artwork but reserves the right to turn down any artwork that it deems as inappropriate, unsafe for public display or too difficult to install.
  • All artwork must remain in the show until its closing unless it is sold in which case it can be taken from the gallery at the time of the sale. If you have an emergency and must remove your artwork, you must notify Mint Hill Arts and make arrangements accordingly. For all sales, MHA withholds a 20% commission.

Pickup:
Friday, November 30, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, December 1, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Advance Publicity:
In our publicity we would like to be able, as appropriate, to include photos and descriptions of some of the art that will appear in the show. If you would like for us to consider your entries, please send the Chair of the Communications Committee a photo (in jpg) of one or more of the pieces of art you will enter; the title(s); and, if desired, a short (no more than 50 words) sketch about you, the artist. The information must be received at least one week before the show.
