Mint Hill Arts is proud to present a new exhibit titled, “Photocentricity,” an exhibit featuring the photos & photoart of Mint Hill Arts member Cindy Angelelli.
Mint Hill Town Hall
October 21st – December 31st, 2022
A lifelong amateur photographer, after retiring from a successful career at Duke Energy, Cindy explored other artistic mediums and techniques, including painting, printmaking, collage and mixed media. She took in-person and online classes to further her skills in each of these areas, from notable artists such as Angela Fehr (watercolor), Carol Nelson (mixed media) and Sebastian Michaels (photoart). These classes built upon the foundation of (long-ago!) high school classes in photography and drawing.
Cindy began entering her artwork in local art competitions, earning numerous awards and quick acclaim for her unique style. She established an art business, Creative Streak Boutique, LLC, through which she sells artwork locally at Mint Hill Arts and online at www.zazzle.com/csboutique.
She enjoys combining various media, including paint, fabric and found objects, to create colorful, textural works inspired by nature, literature and life’s simple pleasures. In recent years, Cindy’s focus has been to combine her physical artwork and original photography with other digital resources using applications such as Photoshop and Procreate. Her work (see https://clangelelli.myportfolio.com/) is characterized by strong composition, especially her use of line, color and texture.
Cindy has served on the volunteer leadership team at Mint Hill Arts since 2015, as the Grant Coordinator for many years and currently as its President. She received master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Industrial Engineering from West Virginia University and draws upon her engineering background to develop her artwork. Cindy and her husband Mark live in Mint Hill, NC, where they raised sons Alex and Dan, who, along with their wives, are the biggest encouragers of her artistry.
