Exhibits at Mint Hill's Town Hall, Chamber of Commerce and BB&T (Ongoing)

First Monday of each each month at BB&T

Fourth Thursday of each month at Mint Hill's Town Hall

We are accepting work from members of MHA to be exhibited at the three off-site exhibits (Mint Hill Town Hall, Chamber of Commerce, and BB&T).

Submission is open to all two-dimensional media and photography and is limited to two pieces per member, with a maximum width of 30 inches for each piece. Due to space limitations, we can only hang 40-50 pieces total (depending on the size mix). If supply exceeds space available, decisions of acceptance will be guided by size media mix, and appropriateness for the venue. There is no entry fee.

All work must be appropriately framed and wired for hanging (no clips, saw-tooth hangers, staples, or tape). Work that does not adhere to these standards will be declined. Please review the Submission Guidelines below. Please have all forms completed when you submit your work.

We are honored to accept the invitation to display a sampling of our members’ artwork at each of these local venues. Each month there will be a new exhibit.

Please contact Romie Mizell, Off-site Exhibit Committee Chairman with any questions.

Submission Guidelines

GENERAL

The Mint Hill Arts Galleries and Gift Shop are open only to current members unless otherwise stated in the announcement of a show. If you are interested in becoming a member, please visit our Membership page.

Intake and pickup of artwork occurs only during scheduled intake periods, the dates of which are included in the announcement for each show. Special Intakes for Offsite Exhibits may be scheduled.

All hanging work must be framed and properly wired for hanging. Submissions with saw tooth hangers, loose wire, etc will not be accepted.

Submissions to the Main Gallery, Secondary Gallery and Gift shop are subject to availability of space.

THE MAIN AND SECONDARY GALLERIES

The Gallery Registration Form and Intake Labels are available online. Complete the form and affix the labels to the artwork prior to Intake, if possible. For 2D art, place the label on the back upper right hand corner (as viewed from the front); for 3D art, place the label on the bottom. The artist's signature on the Gallery Registration Form signifies acceptance of the conditions of the Liability Waiver.

Members participating will be asked to distribute a small stack of flyers and to contribute a Registration Fee, usually $5.00, to cover reception costs. Special registration fees may apply for judged and juried shows, and for nonmembers in open shows.

If you have questions about submitting your work for any of our upcoming shows, please contact Anthony Billotto.

OFFSITE EXHIBITS

Unless the artist specifies otherwise on the Gallery Registration Form, art exhibited in the Main or Secondary Gallery may be selected at the end of a show for exhibit at an offsite venue. Artists are notified of the locations of the artwork and the dates the art will be available for pickup at the gallery.

If you have questions about Offsite Exhibits, please contact Romie Mizell.

THE GIFT SHOP

The Gift Shop accepts the following art: original jewelry, pottery, sculpture, woodworking and woven items as well as note cards, prints, giclees and photography. Hanging guidelines for photography apply; no stand-up frames accepted. No "not for sale" items.

A Gift Shop Inventory List form is available online. Items for the gift shop must have price tag with the following information: (1) Name or three initials of artist; (2) Item # that corresponds with inventory sheet; (3) Price. The signature on the Gift Shop Inventory List affirms acceptance of the terms of the Mint Hill Arts Liability Waiver.

For questions about submitting art to the Gift Shop, please contact Melanie Boone.
