After studying at the Art Institute in Chicago, Susan waited until her children were grown and off to college and then continued with workshops and further study at Cal State Long Beach, studying Life Drawing and Portraiture. She also studied with Ramon Kelley, Chuck Hammond, Robert E. Wood and Daniel Greene while living in California. While living in Jackson, TN, Susan was represented by Marguerite's Gallery in TN, and built up a steady clientele in appreciation of her work. Her goal is to instill emotionality in her work and romanticize the essence of the subject, whether it is in oil, watercolor or pastel.
