Anthony Billotto
Anthony E. Billotto, the son of an artist, was born in New York City. At the age of twelve he and his family moved to northern New Jersey where he ultimately became the first Art Major in his high school, studied at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts and attended Montclair State College as a major in Art Education.
After brief stints as an art teacher, commercial artist and theatrical set designer/builder he embarked on career as a toy designer, model maker, sculptor, illustrator and product developer.
He pioneered new design styles, techniques and formed
AEB & Associates Design Group, a successful design and inventing company located in New Jersey.
Some of the artists who have influenced his creative thinking include Paul Klee, Lyonel Feininger, Gustav Klimt, Paul Cezanne, Joseph Stella and most importantly, his father, Anthony T. Billotto.
Statement:
"From my earliest childhood recollections, other than the raising of my son, I have enjoyed nothing more than drawing, painting, illustrating, sculpting and building interesting constructions using any materials at hand.
For my entire commercial career I have imparted at least some purely artistic elements into every design solution in which I have been involved. This has not always been easy.
The creative process is my life and with these new and unique paintings I am free to communicate with no strings attached by combining movement, color, extreme texture and a few accidents."
Anthony E. Billotto is currently represented in the Charlotte area by The Hacker Studio Gallery in Charlotte.
