Theme: For this show, you're only limited by your own creativity! "Dog Days..." can mean whatever you envision it to mean! Hot dogs, wet dogs, dirty dogs, doggone fun in the sun, canine exuberance, etc...or if you're not a dog person, put your own imaginative spin on it!
This is also the People's Choice Show, so the public is encouraged to visit the gallery and vote for their choice for Best in Show, Prettiest, Funniest, Most Creative, and Best Use of Junk Art.
Open To: This show is open to both Mint Hill Arts members and non-members to exhibit work.
Intake: Friday, July 31, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, August 1, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Opening Reception: Friday, August 7, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Media: > All media are accepted.
Fees: For Mint Hill Arts Members, $10 per artist for up to 4 pieces
For Non-members, $30 per artist for up to 4 pieces
Sizes: > 2-D work should be mounted, matted or framed and cannot exceed 60" x 60" vertically or horizontally
> 3-D work cannot exceed a 36" footprint x 7' in height
Categories: > Best in Show, Prettiest, Funniest, Most Creative, and Best Use of Junk Art
> Ribbons will be awarded to the winner in each category.
Rules: > Each artist may enter up to four pieces.
> All work must be original.
> All artwork must be properly framed and wired.
> All artists must fill out our Gallery Registration Form and affix our Intake Labels. See our forms page
for links to these forms. Save time at Intake by printing and filling them out then bring them in with your artwork.
Labels will be available at Intake for those who choose to fill them out in the gallery.
> Mint Hill Arts accepts all artwork unless it is unsafe to exhibit or shows very inappropriate subject matter.
We welcome new faces and "unusual" artwork. Creative thinking and expression are the things that make your work special!
> Entering artists must be 18 years old or have written permission from a parent/guardian
> All artwork must remain in the show until its closing. If you have an emergency and must remove your artwork, you must
notify Mint Hill Arts and make arrangements for the early removal.
Commissions: Mint Hill Arts requires a 20% commission on all work sold through our gallery. All sales are run
through the gallery and checks are made payable to Mint Hill Arts. Commissions are paid within 30 days of the sale.
All proceeds from sales go to Mint Hill Arts,
an all-volunteer non-profit art organization.
You do not have to put your work up for sale;
whether to sell, and the price of your work, is determined by you.
All sold work can be picked up by the buyer at the
end of each monthly show.
